Foreseeing the Single European Electronic Market – The stakeholders perspective

Abstract

The single European electronic market (SEEM) aims to facilitate electronic transactions in business environments with appropriate legal aspects and regulations solved, with no national exclusions or special conditions prevailing. The new i2010 strategy points to the development of a SEEM. The SEEMseed project generates policy-related recommendations to identify the obstacles and benefits envisaged to SEEM, towards a unique space for e-business in Europe. This paper proposes a methodology for information collection and study on the main SEEM related issues, and describes the results of the collected information, to serve as input to a knowledge database that will be used as a resource pool of recommendations for the EC on the formulation and implementation of community policies.
