Abstract
Nowadays there is not so much work done in the field of Standards for Product and Process Data Modeling for the furniture industrial sector. This paper presents the research and development work that has been performed in the scope of the funstep Interest Group (FSIG) initiative, funded by the European Commission, towards a Standard Application Protocol for furniture product and decoration project data. This issue is now considered essential to push this industry, mainly composed by SMEs, to be competitive in the global market in the advent of the electronic commerce.
